This Privacy Policy describes how AptusHealth ("we," "us," or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the AptusHealth app on iPhone and Apple Watch. By using AptusHealth, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

AptusHealth accesses health and fitness data from Apple Health (HealthKit) that you choose to share. This may include:

• Heart rate variability (HRV)
• Resting heart rate and live workout heart rate
• Sleep data
• VO2 max and other workout metrics

We do not collect your name, email, location, or contact information through the app, other than data you voluntarily provide when contacting support.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your health data to:

• Calculate a recovery score and related insights.
• Generate personalized coaching and guidance during and after workouts.
• Display your metrics within the app.

To provide AI-driven coaching, your app may send relevant health data (such as recent metrics and live heart rate) to our secure backend service, which processes your data to generate responses.

3. Third-Party Services

Our backend uses Google Cloud to host the service and Google's Gemini artificial intelligence to generate coaching. When you request coaching, your data is transmitted to these services for processing. Apple Health (HealthKit) data is accessed only with your permission and remains under your control via your device's Health settings.

We do not sell your data to anyone.

4. Data Storage and Security

Health data accessed by the app remains stored in your Apple Health store on your device. Data transmitted to our backend for coaching is processed to generate your insights and is not used for any other purpose. We use standard HTTPS encryption (TLS) to protect data in transit between your device and our servers.

5. Your Choices

You control whether AptusHealth can read your health data. You can review, change, or revoke access at any time in your iPhone's Settings > Privacy & Security > Health. Revoking access will prevent the app from reading new data or providing coaching.

6. Children's Privacy

AptusHealth is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. The app is rated 4+ on the App Store.

7. International Use

Your data may be processed by our backend services located outside your country. By using the app, you consent to this transfer.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
